Drag Idol returns to The Cockatoo Club for 2026, and once again we're looking for the next big name to represent us in the latter stages of the competition and hopefully taking us all the way to the grand final in London this summer.

About the event
Drag Idol returns to The Cockatoo Club for 2026, and once again we're looking for the next big name to represent us in the latter stages of the competition and hopefully taking us all the way to the grand final in London this summer. The winner will be following in the footsteps of names that have represented us in the past, including last years winner Pam Sandwich, Brenda La Beau and of course Gladys Duffy!
Speaking of which Gladys hosts the whole thing with trusty sidekick DJ Poni on knobs and sound. We've a professional board of judges including head judge Vivienne Lynsey who joins us every week - and guest performers, including Drag Idol 1973 winner Martha D'Arthur who joins us a judge and performer for Heat 2.
